Required Documents

Local / National Numbers

  • LOA with NIP (for individual person) — Signed by the authorized person; signature must match as closely as possible the one on the ID. Templates available in Spanish and English.
  • National ID or Passport copy — Of the authorized representative
  • Latest Invoice — From current carrier
  • Company Registration Certificate (Acta Constitutiva) — Required if the number is company-owned
  • Notarial Power of Attorney (Poder Notarial) — Required if the authorized person is not listed on the company documents

Toll-Free Numbers

  • Letter of Authorization — Signed by the authorized person; signature must match as closely as possible the one on the ID
  • ID or Passport copy — Of the authorized representative
  • Latest Invoice — From current carrier
  • Company Registration Certificate (Acta Constitutiva) — Required if the number is company-owned
  • Notarial Power of Attorney (Poder Notarial) — Required if the authorized person is not listed on the Company Registration Certificate

Mobile Numbers

  • Assignment Letter — Completed and signed by the authorized person
  • Notarial Deed / Power of Attorney — Granting general administrative powers, required for company-registered numbers

Restrictions & Special Conditions

  • NIP (Numero de Identificacion Personal) is required for individual person ports of local/national numbers
  • LOA signature must match as closely as possible the signature on the signer's ID document
  • Company-owned numbers require additional corporate documentation (Acta Constitutiva, Poder Notarial)

Key Definitions

  • NIP (Numero de Identificacion Personal) — A personal identification number assigned to the account holder by the current carrier, required to authorize porting for individual accounts
  • Acta Constitutiva — The company registration certificate / articles of incorporation under Mexican law
  • Poder Notarial — A notarized power of attorney document authorizing a representative to act on behalf of the company
  • FOC (Firm Order Commitment) — The confirmed date when the port will be executed

Notes

  • LOA templates are available in both Spanish and English
  • Mobile ports have significantly longer lead times (7 vs 2 business days) and carry a service disruption risk
  • Ensure all LOA signatures match the signer's ID document as closely as possible to avoid rejection
